El Jardín de las Delicias
is a gastronomic and olfactory experience developed at the Todolí Citrus Fundació in collaboration with Loewe Perfumes and organised by AD Spain to mark the beginning of the collaboration between Loewe and the foundation.

The project takes the foundation’s collection as its starting point: a garden-museum bringing together around 500 varieties of citrus. A walk through the garden offers an approach to this living archive, attending to the particularities of its species, their aromas, flavours and textures.

In collaboration with Nuria Cruelles, Loewe perfumer, a multisensory tasting was developed in which the olfactory profiles of the perfumes were translated into the language of gastronomy. Citrus fruits acted as a common thread between the two disciplines, exploring correspondences between smell, taste and memory.

The experience was articulated through a series of pieces conceived specifically for the occasion: porous stoneware aroma diffusers, edible clay pieces and sculptures made from citrus pectin. A single form was materialised through different materials, moving between the olfactory, the edible and the sculptural.

The tasting took place in the foundation’s laboratory and was followed by a dinner among the orange trees. The menu and table setting continued to develop the relationship between gastronomy, matter and landscape, incorporating more than twenty varieties of citrus from the collection.
